The short version
This app shows no ads, sells nothing about you, and carries no trackers from anyone else. What it keeps is what it needs to put your cards on your other device and to fix things when they break. This page says which is which, in plain words.
Your account
You can create an account with an email address and password. Google sign-in is not enabled in this beta. We do not ask for your phone number or date of birth, or buy information about you.
You can use the app without an account. It simply will not follow you to a second device.
What is saved, and where
Your cards live on the device you made them on. When you are signed in, the app also copies your decks, your cards, your review history, and the pictures and sounds attached to your cards to the app's own database, so your phone and your computer agree about what you know.
That copy travels over encrypted connections, and it is visible only to you: every read and every write is checked against your account first. Signed out, nothing leaves the device.
What the app records about the install
One line per device you sign in on:
- an install id, a random number tied to nothing else about you
- the platform: iPhone, Android, or a web browser
- the version of the app
- your timezone
- which app this is, since the same app is published for two subjects
It is there so the settings screen can show you your own devices, and so a problem can be traced to a version and a platform instead of guessed at. It is not sold, not shared, and not used to advertise anything.
When you report a problem
If you send feedback or report a bug from inside the app, what arrives is what you typed, the install details above, and — if you reported it from a card — which card you were looking at. Nothing else is attached.
The microphone
The microphone is used in one place: when you press record to practise saying something out loud and compare yourself with the example. It opens when you press record and closes when you stop.
The recording stays in the phone's memory while you listen back to it, and is thrown away the moment you move on. It is never saved to the device, never added to your cards, and never sent anywhere.
Hosting and planned AI connections
Supabase hosts account authentication, synced cards and media, and submitted feedback. Netlify hosts the website. Premed Cards currently shares account and sync infrastructure with Premed Cards; signing in with the same account uses that shared cloud collection. Each app keeps its own local storage.
AI/MCP connections are planned for a later release and are not offered in this beta.
What never happens
- No ads, anywhere in the app.
- Nothing about you is sold, rented, or handed over for money.
- No trackers from other companies, and no advertising identifiers.
- No location, no contacts, no address book.
Deleting your account
Write to support@polyglot.cards from the address you signed up with and ask for your account to be deleted. All of it goes: the account, your decks and cards, your review history, and the files attached to your cards.
You can also delete your account from the app's account settings in current versions. Contact support if your installed version does not show that option.
Changes to this page
If any of this changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no separate notice to miss.
